Which protection type should you select?

HTML Password Lock now supports three kinds of protections, normally you should select "Session" protection type, which is the default option.

Page Use this protection type to protect your web pages. Every time you access a protected web page, a password is needed.
Session This protection type uses cookies to store a password on user's local machine. You can use it to protect a whole web site with same password. The cookie with secured information is destroyed after closing all web browsers.
Cookie This protection type uses cookies to store a password on the user's local machine. You can use it to protect a whole web site with same password. Default password storing time is 365 days, you can also define the stored days.

What is "Mark of the Web"?

The "Mark of the Web" will force the HTML file into the Internet Zone. This option will disable Javascript alert bar appearing under Windows XP SP2 when you are viewing web pages directly form your hard drive.

Normally, you should not select this option, the alert bar will not display when viewing the locked web pages online.

Please be careful, when selecting this option, all HTML files linked from the locked file should have the "Mark of the Web" comment, otherwise, when viewing on local computer, the links to these files will not work.
