Which protection type should I select?

HTML Password Lock now supports three kinds of protections. Normally you should select the "Session" protection type, which is the default option.

Page Use this protection type to protect your web pages individually. Every time you access a protected web page, a password will be needed.
Session This protection type uses cookies to store a password on the user's local machine. You can use it to protect an entire website with same password. The cookie with secure information will be destroyed after closing all web browsers.
Cookie This protection type uses cookies to store a password on the user's local machine. You can use it to protect an entire website with same password. Default password storing time is 365 days. However, you can also define the stored days.

What is "Mark of the Web"?

The "Mark of the Web" option will force the HTML file into the Internet Zone. This option will disable the JavaScript alert bar so it won't appear under Windows XP SP2 when you are viewing web pages directly from your hard drive.

Normally, you should not select this option. The alert bar will not display when viewing the locked web pages online.

Please be careful when selecting this option, as all HTML files linked from the locked file will need to have the "Mark of the Web" comment. Otherwise, when viewing the locked file on a local computer, the links to these files will not work.
