| Internet Explorer
security message when running the JavaScript search engine directly
from the hard disk.
Problem
under Windows XP SP2 in IE for JavaScript search engine:
Due to recent updates from Microsoft to their Internet Explorer
browser—updated as part of the Microsoft Windows XP Service
Pack 2 (XP SP2) update—viewing a web page locally that needs
to run active content or scripting causes the following security
message to appear in Internet Explorer's yellow Information
Bar:
To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has
restricted this file from showing active content that could
access your computer. Click here for options ...
So, when running the JavaScript search engine directly from
the hard disk, it will display this message. When the yellow
Information Bar appears (shown above), click on it and select
"Allow blocked content ...", then
the JavaScript search engine will work fine.
This message will only display when you running the search
engine directly from the hard disk. It will not display
after you upload the search engine to the web server.
